Bison
We offer full service hunting of the Copper River bison heard. Most hunting is done by boat along the Copper River or on snowmobiles in winter.   This heard may be hunted by drawing permit only.  The odds of drawing are about 1-3%.  The bison of the Copper River are 100% free ranging.  Bison spend most of their time on land owned by Ahtna, Inc so proper permits must be in place before hunting.  Most hunting takes place in September and early October.  Wild bison are very tough animals, at least a .300 magnum is recommended.
